Abstract:Nanocellulose which is microfibrillar is classified into cellulose nanofibers (CNF), cellulose nanocrystals (CNC), and bacterial nanocellulose (BNC). CNF is mainly prepared by mechanical method and TEMPO-mediated oxidation method. CNC is mainly prepared by acid hydrolysis and is in the form of rods or needles. BNC is synthesized by bacteria and is in the form of nanofiber networks. The application status of nanocellulose in gel, biomimetic composites, conductive materials, electrode materials, thermal conductive materials, electromagnetic shielding materials, piezoelectric materials and sensor materials was reviewed, and the future development direction of functional nanomaterials was prospected.
